Best Western  PLUS Stoke-on-Trent Moat House Hotel is in Hanley in the city of Stoke-on-Trent.

This year Stoke-on-Trent is European City of Sport, a year in which we also celebrate our 25th birthday. The hotel is centrally located and we have direct links to the area's heritage. Josiah Wedgwood, the "Father of English Potters." lived in Etruria Hall and this impressive 18th century building is now our dedicated 8-room meetings and events centre.

The hotel is located in Etruria Hall's grounds and all 147 bedrooms have comfort cooling and free, unlimited Wi-Fi. Our leisure facilities are free to use for residents and include an indoor heated pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and air conditioned gym. The restaurant and bar offer a choice of menus whilst the lounge area has a contemporary feel ideal for relaxing over a coffee and meeting up with friends. The smart surroundings and free Wi-Fi also make it convenient for business meetings.

The hotel is close to the M6 motorway - just 20 minutes from either junction 15 or 16. When you arrive we have free parking for up to 350 cars. I travelling by train Stoke Station is approximately two-miles from the hotel. We are an hour's drive from the cities of Birmingham, Derby, Warrington, Manchester and Liverpool so we make a great hotel when travelling on business in the Midlands and Northwest.

If you are planning a conference or meeting in Stoke-on-Trent we have twelve conference and event rooms in the hotel. Etruria Hall is our dedicated eight-room meeting centre, whilst the hotel has a further four flexible meeting rooms including the impressive ballroom which can accommodate up to 650. It's not just the big events that we host. Celebrate a baby shower, children's party, afternoon tea or a get-together over a glass of Prosecco here with us.

Stoke-on-Trent's business district and business parks are close to the hotel, whilst Hanley's shops, theatres, museums and cinemas are on our doorstep. The Potteries Shopping Centre - the largest shopping centre in Staffordshire and South Cheshire - is just minutes from the hotel and the historic market town of Newcastle-under-Lyme is a short drive.

There's lots to do in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. Stoke Ski Centre's dry ski slope and Waterworld - Europe's largest indoor water park - are a short walk from the hotel. Other nearby attractions include the brand new World of Wedgwood, The Potteries Museum, Monkey Forest, Gladstone Pottery Museum, Middleport Pottery and Emma Bridgwater. Alton Towers Resort is 30-minutes from the hotel as is The Peak District.

Visit England has designated 2016 as The Year Of The English Garden. It's 300 years since the birth of Capability Brown - England's finest landscaper whose "workplace" was in Staffordshire. The hotel is close to a number of award-winning gardens including Trentham Gardens, Biddulph Grange  and Dorothy Clive Garden

Other local visitor attractions include Monkey Forest where you can walk amongst 140 Barbary macaques that roam freely in 60 acres of Staffordshire woodland. The hotel is next door to the indoor tropical aqua park Water World. Middleport Pottery  is now an exciting and award-winning visitor destination in the heart of Burslem, the Mother Town of the Potteries. On a sunny day why not walk to Middleport along the Trent-Mersey Canal tow-path. The canal is just a short walk from the hotel.
